hey all, I tried to hook up my PS3 controller with Windows so what I did was:

Quote:
Download MotionInJoy
Plugged in my PS3 controller via USB (my laptop doesn't have bluetooth built in, nor do I have a bluetooth dongle)

After plugging the controller in my laptop via the USB cable, this message should pop up:

but I don't get that message, my controller is not recognized by Windows. Normally I should plug in the controller, it should be seen by Windows as a USB device, open up MotionInJoy and select all the stuff there but the problem is Windows won't even see I plug in the controller. Also; MotionInJoy shows that there is no controller connected. My controller is a Dualshock 3.

I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Any help is welcome please!

The message indicates that Windows does recognize the device. Go to "Devices and Printers" and it should show up as a USB device.

Since it doesn't work in MJ I assume that you didn't load the USB drivers in MJ. Start MJ's and go to "Driver Manager" and load the drivers.

I have the same problem. Playstation 3 controller shows up in devices and printers, but under its device status it says

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

Since MotionInJoy shows no controller plugged in I can't load drivers because it prompts me to select a device first, which it says there aren't any.
