I've been trying to use my PS3 controller with MotioninJoy, strictly through USB, to no avail. I keep getting this error whenever I try to load the driver:

I've rebooted both the system and the program, only to get the same error again. The PS3 controller shows up in device manager but is not detected by MotioninJoy. I've been using my PS3 controller with LibUSB on a 32-bit OS for a long time now but that doesn't work on Windows 7 64-bit.

Keep in mind that I don't have a Bluetooth device. I want to run my PS3 controller directly through a USB cable.

I've already tried that.

EDIT: This is the error I get when I try "install all".

ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED
5 (0x5)
Access is denied.

ERROR_FILE_INVALID
1006 (0x3EE)
The volume for a file has been externally altered so that the opened file is no longer valid.

1)Delete the file(C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\mij........)
2)try "install all" again.

Hi guys i am fairly new here.

Basically i was having problems with controller 2, it always worked wonderfully with 1 controller, and props to the creators :D

but when i got another controller, the joystick wouldnt work and the dpad would work.

basically then i googled how to make the 2nd pad work, and this is what i did:

viewtopic.php?f=47&t=658

I did everything there and now i get the errors that are in this thread.

it seems that i removed the driver of MotioninJoy... i tried install all and load driver

i get errors

Load Driver Error:
ERROR:Install MotioninJoy Driver fail.. Error code:0X-1ffffdfd

Install All Error:

INFO:Could not open file C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\mijxinput.inf_amd64_neutral_aad1beabb2f836a4\mijxinput.inf.. Error code:0X3

ERROR:PnP Install failed.. Error code:0X3ee

After deleting the file above (following thread viewtopic.php?f=47&t=658), it seems that i might have permanently damaged the registry or the driver? im not sure...

I do not know what to do............ i tried everything... Please help!

I joined up just to share a solution I found to this problem. It was the 'access denied' thing you mention, but deleting the file doesn't work. The problem is I didn't 'have permission' to access the file, even to delete it because Windows is stupid like that. Even if you go into it manually, if you try to go into that folder, it will say you don't have permission. And thus, this happens in MIJ:

So, I changed the security on it and gave myself permission. (Right click on the folder and go to properties, then click on the security tab.) Once I was able to manually access it, so was Motion In Joy and the problem was resolved. The red 'x' turned into a 'check' ^.^ However, even though MIJ still says 'waiting for controllers to be connected' or whatever, it still worked when I tested it. I just wanted to play snes games with the PS3 controller, and now I can. Yay! It took me forever to figure this out, so I figured I'd share what worked for me. I hope this helps somebody out there that might've also run into this problem because I couldn't find anything on it except for this thread. Very frustrating. So yeah, permissions. Fuckin' Windows.
